What does Tiger’s Blood and a cute baby Yeti have in common? Avalanche Shave Ice!
We had just come from Sunday brunch Dim Sum at Din Tai Fung Dumpling House and quickly started to crave a nice cold dessert. Icecream, Boba Tea, Slurpies were all put on the table but we all had one thing in mind… Shaved Ice. But where were we going to find shaved ice nearby? We dove into our iphones yelping & googling away until we came across Avalanche. On a hot sunny California day, discovering Avalanche was a Holy Grail! Upon our arrival we fell in LOVE with their mascot a small white and ice-blue abominable snowman. This little Yeti greeted us at the door next to their clearly marked hours of operations and was found throughout the shop on the ice machines, the employees uniforms and on their flavor offering menus.

“We just opened last Thursday!”… explained the nice gentleman assisting us. Him and his fellow employee throughly walked us through all of the flavors including Guava, Root beer, Coffee, Passion Fruit, Creamsicle, Lime & Tigers Blood! Man oh Man did they know their stuff! They encouraged us to try out flavors and even let me sample a small scoop of Vanilla ice cream to experiment with a new flavor sensation! Avalanche would be a fantastic place for birthday parties, after a soccer match, or just to get together with friends and hang out. It provides a hip, cool, family friendly environment that people of all ages can enjoy. I am really looking forward to visiting again, they do offer stickers and frequent buyer card for any potential regulars out there!
